Our 4th birthday is all about the number 4. We built an ecosystem that consists of more than 400.000 individuals. On top of that CHERRISK became one of the first insurtechs in the world that helps people live safer and healthier lives in 4 countries. This would not have been possible without the support of our community, so a big thank you to all of you!

We turned three today, which means we’re not toddlers anymore. Jokes aside, we’ve grown from a pilot project into a successful insurtech with over 330,000 users in our ecosystem. Lately, many articles are about how employees and employers think about going back to the office as vaccinations are ramping up around the world. A lot of companies want their people to return to the offices, but a lot of them don’t want to go back to their previous lives. We get this feeling, we have it too, but we still believe in meeting in person. We’ll tell you why.

CHERRISK celebrates its second birthday! 🍒 🍰

The first wave of the coronavirus pandemic might soon be over, but something great will remain with us: the CHERRISK-community showed that in such a crisis it can act as one to help people in need. At the beginning of the Hungarian lockdown, we’ve launched a charity campaign to help “Idősek Barátai Program” (Friends of the Elderly Program) and the number of supporters surpassed our wildest dreams. In just 33 days, CHERRISK GO users have donated over 1.4 million cherries. That means 1,444,600 forints (appr. 4000 euros) support that provides meals to 400 over-65s.

After endless hours of work, CHERRISK insurances have made their entrance into the German market! The cross-border test of the CHERRISK model is now the most important thing in the company’s life, which can lead to a true breakthrough on the market. With it, the model has become one of Europe’s first insurtech start-ups that serves several countries with the same products from one centre.

Self-isolation and social distancing take its toll on most of us at CHERRISK, just like most of you out there. To counter this, we try to come up with new things every day to make home office a little more bearable. This is how CHERRISK makes quarantine more enjoyable 🏘

We were working on it for one and a half years but finally CHERRISK 2.0 has arrived! Our platform became simpler and more user friendly. Moreover, with several changes in the “background” our system became faster and is ready to start its international journey. Terms and conditions are now more transparent and additional coverages make the insurance products even more comprehensive.

Time spent with moving around declined with 20% due to the coronavirus and social distancing – turns out from the CherryGO application data. Our users collected significantly less cherries than usual, but for once we can be happy about this decline. Since we want to support staying at home, 30 bonus cherries are given to all of our users irrespectively of their activity level. Moreover we started a new charity program, with which everybody can support the elderly to stay at home.

CherryGO: move less, help more!

One of the most efficient methods of fighting against the coronavirus is social distancing. With not meeting others and staying at home we can slow down the spread of the disease. An important step in beating it. Of course, this isn’t an easy thing to do, especially in a sector like insurance, where traditionally sales and customer service agents meet clients in person. CHERRISK employees however are working from home for days now, and our clients couldn’t tell the difference.

CHERRISK users buy a policy in every 9 minutes. CherryGO is downloaded in every 2 minutes. We have more than 50 thousand users in our ecosystem. Exceptional results, knowing that a year ago we were only making the finishing touches to CHERRISK. On the dawn of 17 September 2018, we worried about our exact launch time: would it be 8 AM or just sometime afternoon? The last wrinkles were ironed out by 3 PM and the first Hungarian fully online insurance platform was launched half an hour later. Ever since then our success story goes on, and we’d like to share some bits of this year with you.

We’ve reached an important milestone: CHERRISK GO acquired 💯 thousand registered users! Although Hungary takes the lead for now, Germany is coming up at a breath-taking pace when it comes to user numbers. What’s even better is that our users just never stop moving! Together they’ve spent 1500 years in motion in just a little more than a calendar year, and they’ve spent most of their virtual cherries on charitable causes!

Even better, our data shows that as the app gets more popular, the number of new downloads will far outpace a steady, linear growth. While we’re just at the beginning of our path, we’re happy to see that we can motivate people to live a safer and healthier life in Germany too!

The first mobile application of CHERRISK had an awesome kick-off: CherryGO acquired more than 50 thousand users in its first six months. What's even more important, users don't abandon the app, they use it every day. No wonder our members spent more than 190 million minutes on the go. With this we achieved our most important goal: we really motivate people to live a more active life.
